Toller Memorial Set for This Saturday Night

Marysville, CA (February 17, 2018) – The smell of methanol fuel and the thunderous sounds of sprint cars will fill the void of the off-season blues for local race fans. On February 24th, the Marysville Raceway will host the 10th Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial. This race traditionally kicks off the 2018 dirt track season.
The Toller Memorial will feature winged 360 sprint cars, the C&H Veteran Ent. presents Hunt Magnetos Wingless Tour and the RaceSaver Sprint Series. These three sprint car divisions will headline the Saturday night festivities at the Marysville Raceway.
The raceway has decided to open the pit gate an hour earlier and bump up the drivers meeting. The pit gate is now set to open at 2 PM and drivers meeting 5 PM sharp.
The front gate will open at 5 PM for the grandstand fans. General Adult admission is $17.00, junior and seniors $14.00 (over 62, 12-15, military with ID, disabled) kids $6 (6-11) and five and under FREE. Also, FREE parking.
This event was started in 2009 as a tribute to Sherm Toller who was an ambassador for dirt track racing for most of his life. Sherm’s enthusiasm for the sport was contagious and ultimately led him to being the infield announcer for numerous years at Marysville. Previous winged 360 sprint car winners of this event include Jeremy Burt (’09 & ’11), Herman Klein 2010, Kyle Hirst 2012, Sean Becker 2013, Jonathan Allard 2014, Justin Sanders 2015, Andy Forsberg 2016 and DJ Netto last season.
Petaluma Speedway Promoter and Hunt Series Tour Manager Rick Faeth is looking forward to getting the season underway this weekend at the Sherm & Loree Toller Memorial, “We had a great race last year at this event and I know our guys are looking forward to get the season started,” said Faeth.
The Toller family is adding an extra $100 to the 10th place finisher in the main event for both the winged 360 sprints and Hunt Magnetos Wingless tour. Traditionally, the Hall family has included an extra $100 for quick time during the winged sprint cars qualifying session.
