Extremely Hot Temperatures Force Cancellation of Marysville Race
by Troy Hennig

Marysville, CA (June 21, 2017) – This Saturday night, June 24th, Marysville Raceway was supposed to host an action-packed night of racing for both drivers and fans. Instead, with hot weather predicted to reach record breaking status this week and on Saturday, promoter Dennis Gage has decided to cancel this Saturday nights scheduled racing event because of the unsafe outdoor conditions. Predicted weather shows the temperature to be more than 106 degrees on Saturday. “It was a hard decision because I don’t like the idea of cancelling any event but after consulting with my staff and checking the weather I feel it is in the best interest of everyone to take the weekend off with this continued heat wave.”

Big time auto racing at Marysville will continue the following weekend. In fact, it is one of the biggest weekends of the year. On Saturday night, July 1st, the race track will host five racing divisions led by the California Sprint Car Civil War Series. On top of that, the race track will host its second annual gigantic aerial fireworks show following the nights final checkered flag. Fans can purchase tickets on line at or stop by the local Riebes Auto Parts in Marysville. Fans can also purchase tickets the night of the event at the front grandstands window.

On July 1st, kids 11 and under will be admitted free along with a paying adult. One adult admission is $17.00. Seniors and Juniors (aged 12-16) are only $14.00.
