410 Winged Sprint Cars Lone Visit of the Year

Marysville, CA (June 8, 2016)…This Saturday night, the sights and sounds of dirt track auto racing returns to Marysville Raceway. For the lone time this season, the big sprints will entertain the local crowd. An interesting mix of 410 winged sprint cars are scheduled to vie for the $2,000 main event win offered by promoter Dennis Gage. 

Saturday night general admission is $13.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors and juniors and military with I.D. Children ages 6 – 11 are $6.00 while kids five and under are free. Pit gate opens at 3 PM with the front gate opening at 5 PM. Family pass is available for $40.00 and includes two adult tickets and three kids 11 and under. Winged sprint car qualifying is scheduled for 6:30 PM. 

A family that races together stays together. Four of the top five in the IMCA Sport Mods division are related. Brian Cooper leads the IMCA Sport Mods championship heading into point race #7. Cooper holds a nine point edge over both his brother Todd and Jerry Bartlett. Damian and Mike Merritt are tied for fourth. During the previous four point shows, 22 different drivers have earned points. 

Joining the winged sprint cars are the winged super stocks. Courtney Dozier has won the two previous super stocks main event. A plethora of talented drivers are chasing Dozier including James Castleberry, Jerry Bartlett and Mike Walko. 

Economy winged sprint cars will have their third point race of the season. Wyatt Brown leads Nathan Johnson by just five points. Kevin Dozier and Jeff Macedo are the two other drivers who have competed in the prior two events. 

Limited late models will get another chance to attack the quarter-mile clay oval. The first visit saw only five cars attend and in the end Ryan McDaniel was the winner.
