Auto Racing Returns This Saturday Night to Marysville Raceway

Marysville, CA (May 6, 2015) – This Saturday night, May 9, auto racing resumes at Marysville Raceway with a gigantic five division night. Last weekend, the raceway was dark. This Saturday, the lights will be burning bright on the cars and stars of Marysville Raceway. The winged 360 sprint cars, wingless sprints, super stocks, mini stocks and Pro 4 sprints are all slated to race during point race #4.

The pit gate will open at 3 P.M. while the front grandstand gate will open at 5 P.M. Qualifying for the winged sprint cars will begin at 6 P.M. with racing to follow. General grandstand admission to this event is $12.00 for adults, $9.00 for juniors and seniors, military or disabled. Children, ages 6 to 11, are $6.00. Five and under are free. Family pass is $30.00 and includes 2 adult tickets and or 2 junior or 3 children tickets

Watsonville’s Justin Sanders leads the winged 360 sprint car point standings. Sander’s has accumulated two wins this year at Marysville and holds a seven point advantage over Grass Valley’s Jeremy Burt. Local favorites Courtney Dozier and Korey Lovell are holding down the third and fourth position respectively. This season the raceway has hosted 32 different sprint car drivers who have earned points. 
 
Defending champion Tim Sherman Jr. is two points ahead of Misty Castlebery in the wingless point standing. Josh Vieira is only four points back of Sherman. Aaron Gustin and Brett Youngman are tied for the fourth spot. Thirteen drivers have earned champion points in two races this season. 
Speaking of Castleberry, she has won three in a row Pro 4 Sprint main events this year. The defending champion will look to add another win to her total this Saturday night. Tim MacLaughin has been Castleberry’s toughest competitor and is eager to get back into victory lane. 
 
Courtney Dozier won the lone Super Stock main event his season. Mike Walcko and Jerry Bartlett finished second and third. The Super Stocks are a popular division unique to Marysville Raceway.
Jimmy Ford holds a five point edge over Damian Merritt in the mini stock division. This will mark the third point race of the season for the mini stocks. A total of 11 drivers have competed in the mini stock division during 2015.
