Big Sprints Return to Marysville Saturday Night

Marysville, CA (June 22, 2016)…It has been a month since the winged 360 sprint cars have hit the quarter-mile banked clay oval track at Marysville Raceway. This Saturday night, the wait is over. Grass Valley’s Jeremy Burt leads an all-star cast of drivers back into action at the most famous action track in the West. Challenging Burt for honors in victory lane will include Chico’s Brad Bumgarner, Rio Linda’s Cody Lamar and Marysville’s multi-talented Cortney Dozier.

The IMCA Sport Mods have been as good as advertised. Good car counts and close door to door racing has energized this new breed of modified racing at Marysville. Brian Cooper and Todd Cooper sit at the top of the point standings. Jerry Bartlett is lurking in third. Mike Merritt and Damian Merritt continue to inch closer to victory lane. The twin billing of the winged sprint cars and the sport mods are as good as it gets at any dirt track in California.

This Saturday night is shaping up to be one of the best nights of racing this year. General admission is $13.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors and juniors and military with I.D. Children ages 6 – 11 are $6.00 while kids five and under are free. Pit gate opens at 3 PM with the front gate opening at 5 PM. Family pass is available for $40.00 and includes two adult tickets and three kids 11 and under.

Adding to the electrifying racing are the Hobby Stocks, Pro 4 Sprints and the winged economy sprints. The Hobby Stocks are making a remarkable comeback at Marysville. Solid car counts and old fashion door banging racing are stimulating excitement for fans and drivers.

Wyatt Brown leads the charge from the winged economy ranks. Brown holds an eleven point lead over Nathan Johnson. The Pro 4 Sprints continue to call Marysville Raceway their home base. Both divisions offer fans great racing.
