Big Weekend for Championship Aspirations

Marysville, CA (May 15, 2018) – This Saturday night, May 19, point race number seven could play a vital role in determining the end of the year champion for the winged 360 sprint cars and IMCA Sport Mods. Each division has numerous drivers that has the potential to win the end of the season championship. What drivers will propel their chances and which drivers might hurt their chances will play out live this Saturday night. It would be silly to miss out on this show. Joining these two division on Saturday night will be the Hobby Stocks and RaceSaver 305 Sprint Cars.
Marysville’s Jeremy Hawes holds a ten-point edge over Mike Monahan from Reno. Chico’s Kenny Allen is just 16-points back of Hawes. Opening night winner William Fielding sits 21-points back of Hawes. All four drivers must perform well this Saturday night to ensure their chances of a championship.
The IMCA Sport Mod championship is one for the ages. Seven drivers are within 15-points for the top spot. Grass Valley’s Andrew Peckham picked up the win this past Saturday and now leads the point standings. Damian and Mike Merritt are sitting second and third in points. Both Merritt’s are on the verge of a win. Howard Law, Jason Ferguson, Jimmy Ford and Jim Waller are all capable of being champions and will be hard to count out as the season progresses. This competitive group of drivers continues to be one of the many bright spots this year at Marysville.
The Hobby Stocks and RaceSaver Sprints are visiting divisions. Hobby Stocks are predominant at Silver Dollar Speedway. The RaceSaver Sprints are a new division that has a strong following in the Central Valley. Both divisions should take advantage of this opportunity to race this Saturday night.
The pit gate will open at 3 PM while the front grandstand gate opens at 5 PM.
Adult general admission is $13.00 into the grandstands. Seniors, juniors and Military with ID are just $11.00 each. Kids, six to eleven years old, are $6.00. Children five and under are FREE. A family pass is available and consists of 2 adult tickets, 2 junior tickets or 3 kid’s tickets for a combined price of $40.00.
