Round #1 Civil War Sprints at Marysville

Marysville, CA (March 20, 2018) – There is a “War” brewing this Saturday night, March 24th, at the Marysville Raceway. The California Sprint Car Civil War Series will invade the famed quarter-mile clay oval raceway for the first time in 2018. The Civil War Series boast a longstanding tradition of top sprint car drivers all vying to end up in victory lane following the 30-lap main event.
Joining the Civil War Sprint Cars this Saturday night will include the Sport Modifieds and RaceSaver 305-winged sprint cars. Championship points will be on the line for both the Sport Mods and the RaceSaver Sprints.
The pit gate opens at 3 PM. The front gate will open at 5 PM for the grandstand fans. General Adult admission is $17.00, junior and seniors $14.00 (over 62, 12-15, military with ID, disabled) kids $6 (6-11) and five and under FREE. Also, FREE parking at all events in 2018 at Marysville Raceway.
A large amount of winged sprint cars is expected to compete this Saturday night. Mother nature has been a nuisance to local racing making local drivers and teams eager to get to the track.
Sport modified drivers are also eager to get going. Locally, this would be the first race for them. A decent car count is expected to entertain the fans.
The RaceSaver sprint car division is something new to Northern California. Gaining popularity across the country, race organizer Dennis Gage is hopeful this series catches on in Northern California.
Auburn, CA driver Andy Forsberg is a 10-time champion of the Civil War Series and will be one of the favorites to win the $2500 feature event. Chico’s Michael Ing, San Jose’s Brent Bjork and Princeton’s Mason Moore are other drivers scheduled to compete.
