Fast Cars and Freedom July 3rd at Marysville Raceway

Marysville, CA (June 27, 2018) – High speed auto racing and gigantic aerial fireworks will light up the sky on July 3rd, Tuesday night, at the ACTION TRACK of the West, Marysville Raceway. This once a year spectacular combines dirt track racing and a salute to America’s Independence Day. Four racing divisions will be in attendance led by the winged 360 sprint cars, IMCA Sport Mods, Super Stocks and Crate Sprints. Following the races, the sky will ignite with gigantic and patriotic fireworks show that will entertain your family.
Adult general admission is $17.00 into the grandstands.  Seniors and Juniors are $14.00 each. Kids 11 and under are Free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be bought early by visiting www.marysvilleraceway.com
The Marysville Raceway will play patriotic music over the PA system throughout the night. Add in great food, quick service, cold drinks and kettle korn to make this a can’t miss show for the entire family. Plus, as always, FREE PARKING.
Pit gate for the competitors and crews will open at 3 PM. Front grandstand gate for the fans will open at 5 PM. Winged sprint car qualifying will start around 6:30 PM with racing to follow. Once again, kids 11 and under are FREE when accompanied by an adult.
Marysville’s Jeremy Hawes and Chico’s Kenny Allen are locked in a great championship battle foe the lead. Allen is just six points behind Hawes. Add in Reno’s Mike Monahan, only nine points back of Hawes, and this three-team race for the championship is as good as it gets.
Two multi-time sprint car champions are scheduled to join the winged sprints cars on Tuesday night. Auburn’s Andy Forsberg, a 10-time Civil War Champion, and Kyle Hirst, a three-time King of the West/NARC champion both have this race on their schedule. With the mid-week running of Marysville, except a few more out of town drivers vying for the win.
Crate Sprints will be led by Jeff Macedo who holds a fourteen-point edge over Jaylon Deas. Mike Sayre and Cameron Haney are both within 20-points of Macedo. This four-car chase for the championship will be on display Tuesday night.
This Tuesday will mark the seventh point race of the season for the IMCA Sport Mods. Damian Merritt continues to lead the charge. Jimmy Ford currently sits in second, just eight-points back of Merritt. Howard Law sits in the third spot followed by Andrew Peckham. Mike Merritt rounds out the top five. This competitive division is sure to entertain the expected large crowd on Tuesday night.
Super Stocks standings are a bit spread out. Chris Warner holds a 48-point edge over second spot Rod Oliver. Multi-time champion James Castleberry sits in third.
