Final Full Night of Point Championship Racing

Marysville, CA (September 15, 2015) – The season finale for weekly championship point racing is this Saturday night, September 19th. A strong field of racecars is expected to participate at Marysville Raceway led by the popular winged 360 sprint cars. Other edge of your seat divisions includes street stocks, sport mods, wingless sprints and economy sprints.

The pit gate will open at 3 P.M. while the front grandstand gate will open at 5 P.M. Qualifying for the winged sprint cars will begin at 6 P.M. with racing to follow. General grandstand admission to this event is $12.00 for adults, $9.00 for juniors and seniors or military. Children, ages 6 to 11, are $6.00. Five and under are free. Family pass is $30.00 and includes 2 adult tickets and or 2 junior or 3 children tickets.

Even though Watsonville’s Justin Sanders has wrapped up the winged 360 sprint car championship doesn’t mean he is going to take it easy on the rest of the field. Sanders picked up win number 10 two weeks ago and will be the favorite come Saturday once again. Rio Linda’s Cody Lamar, Grass Valley’s Jeremy Burt and Chico’s Brad Bumgarner will aim at knocking Sanders from the top spot this Saturday night.

The wingless sprint car championship is going to be a good one this Saturday night. Defending champion Tim Sherman Jr. leads Josh Vieira by just four points. Misty Castleberry holds down the third spot and is only eight points back of Sherman. Bret Youngman is in the fourth spot and holds a ten point advantage over Kyle Standley.

Howard Law has taken control of the IMCA Sport Mods point championship. It will be tough for second place Jimmy Ford to overcome a 23-point disadvantage to Law. Ford’s biggest concern is holding off Kyle Cheney for second. Cheney is only seven points behind Ford. There is plenty of congestion for the next four spots. Alan Furuta, Jim Waller, Matt Magenheimer and Mike Smith all have a shot to finish in the top five of the point standings after Saturday nights race.

Both the street stocks and economy sprints are visiting divisions this Saturday at Marysville Raceway. No points are awarded for these divisions, however, money and a winning trophy will be up for grabs.
