Kids Bike Night This Saturday at Marysville Raceway

Marysville, CA – (8-1-22) …Marysville Raceway presents kids bike night this Saturday August 6th. Parents can enjoy one last outing as a family before kids head back to school. Kids 11 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. Reminder, please have the kids bring their bikes for a chance to race during the intermission. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded. During that time, the Raceway will also raffle off a few new bikes to some lucky ticket winners. Kids 11 and under will also receive a coupon for a FREE Hot Dog and small soda.

While the theme of the night will focus on the children, there is still big implications for drivers in search of a season long championship title. The three divisions competing tonight will include the Hobby Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, and the winged 360 sprint cars.

Front gate is scheduled to open at 5 PM. Pit gate will open at 3 PM. Racing is scheduled to start around 6 :30 PM. Adult ticket price is $15.00 (16-61), junior/seniors/military discount with card $13.00 (12-15, 62+), kids 11 and under are FREE tonight. As always, parking is FREE at Marysville Raceway. Direct link to purchase your tickets online can be found here https://www.eventsprout.com/event/marysville-raceway-2022

For the ninth time this season, the IMCA Sport Mods will attack the quarter-mile bull ring. The division continues to be led by Jimmy Ford. His lead over Shaun Merritt stands at just 12-points. Scott Savell sits in the third spot just one-point back of Merritt. Hunter Merritt sits fourth and is only three back of Savell. These four drivers have attended all eight races up to this point. Ford is the only one in the top four to get a main event win this year. Look for one of these four to end up in victory lane this Saturday night.

Howard Law picked up his fifth win of the season during the previous Hobby Stock point race. Only twice this season has Law not parked his No. 14 in victory lane. He leads Kyle Cheney by 32-points going into the final two races of the year. To his credit, Cheney has secured a win this season. Zach Lindgren is four points behind Cheney and eager to get a win at Marysville. Joe Gillock and Jacob Bright round out the top five. Fifty-four different drivers have earned championship points this season. The real question is, can anyone beat Law?

Bobby Butler is 30-points ahead of Korey Lovell in the winged 360 sprint car division. This Saturday marks the eleventh point race of the year for the winged warriors. There has been no true dominant driver this year. Only one driver has won multiple main events. That honor goes to William Fielding. Butler the leader, has a win, but consistency has helped catapult him into the point lead. The top five in points is evenly spread out. Thirteen drivers have competed in at least eight races coming into this Saturday. That number shows the strength of weekly winged 360 sprint car racing at Marysville.
