Sanders Now Second in Nation for Wins

Marysville, CA (August 19, 2015) – The quarter-mile clay oval Marysville Raceway is being held hostage by Watsonville sprint car driver Justin Sanders. This Saturday night, August 22nd, Sander will try to win his fourth winged 360 sprint car main event feature in a row. Up to this point in the season, Sanders has now won eight of the 14 winged 360 sprint car races held at Marysville Raceway. Add in the seven wins at his home track in Watsonville, Ocean Speedway, and he currently has 15 wins in 2015. According to sprint car stats expert Kevin Eckert, Sanders is now second in the entire Country when it comes to sprint car main event wins this year. The only driver ahead of him is current World of Outlaw point leader Donny Schatz with 28.

The pit gate will open at 3 P.M. while the front grandstand gate will open at 5 P.M. Qualifying for the winged sprint cars will begin at 6 P.M. with racing to follow. General grandstand admission to this event is $12.00 for adults, $9.00 for juniors and seniors or military. Children, ages 6 to 11, are $6.00. Five and under are free.

The BCRA midgets make their only appearance of the season this Saturday night. The traveling organization will race in Chico the night before and will hopefully have a full field of race cars to entertain the fans.

Howard Law leads the IMCA sport mods back into action. Law holds a 24-point championship edge over two drivers tied for second. Those two drivers tied for second at Jimmy Ford and Kyle Cheney. Alan Furuta is only three points behind in fourth spot. Jim Waller sits in the fifth spot only four points back of Furuta.

The Pro 4 Sprints championship is coming down to the wire. After this Saturday nights event, the division will have one more point night on September 26th. Misty Castleberry is trying to win another track championship while leading the Pro 4 Sprints.

Economy Sprints are scheduled again this weekend. This is the first season of racing at Marysville and the car counts are hoping to improve.
