Take Two; Toller Civil War Show Set for Saturday

Marysville, CA (March 6, 2019) – This Saturday, March 9th, marks the second attempt to open the 2019 racing season at Marysville Raceway. With a better forecast predicted, the Raceway is set to host the re-scheduled Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial for the winged 360 sprint cars. Joining them are the popular IMCA Pepsi Sport Mods and the Crate Sprints.
This race also marks the 29th consecutive season that the Civil War Sprint Car Series, presented by Hoosier Racing Tire, gets started with point race number one. The longtime series is scheduled to compete five times in 2019. The series returns to Marysville on May 26th with the longstanding Mel Hall Memorial event.
A large car count is expected when the IMCA Pepsi Sport Mods show up this Saturday. This series is also receiving an extra bump in money if more than 12 drivers show up, the main event will pay $350 to win. If more than 20 drivers show up, the main event will pay $500 to win.
The pit gate will open at 3 PM while the front grandstand gate opens at 5 PM. Race cars on the track at 6 PM.
Adult admission into the grandstands is $17.00. Juniors, seniors and military with ID are just $14.00. Kids 6-11 are $6 and five and under are FREE. As always, parking is FREE.
The Toller family is set to offer some cash bonuses for the winged sprint car competitors throughout the night. Veteran photographer Troy White is donating a $100 to the hard luck recipient during the 30-lap winged sprint car main event.
The 30-lap winged 360 sprint car main event winner will receive $2500. The Civil War Series pays competitors at least $400 to start the main event.
Gage Promotions will continue to honor their early season bonuses for the winged sprint cars. With the rain outs, the drive for five has been reduced to the Spree for Three. If one driver can win the next three-winged 360 sprint car races between Marysville and Chico tracks, that driver will earn an extra $1,000 bonus. Also, any one driver/team who participates in the next three scheduled winged 360 sprint car races between Chico and Marysville and attends the Mel Hall Memorial will receive a $250 bump in pay at the Hall.
This Saturday will also serve as the first championship point show for the IMCA Pepsi Sport Mods and the Crate Sprints. Over the off-season, there has been plenty of interest shown in the Crate Sprints and we are excited to host this division once again for 2019.
