Terrell Grabs Wins at Marysville

Marysville, CA (May 20, 2017) – Sebastopol’s Bradley Terrell turned a rare appearance at Marysville Raceway into a victorious night as the former Petaluma Speedway champion won the 25-lap winged sprint car main event. Terrell was a bonus to the night of racing that saw 15-winged sprint cars show up for point race #6. Grass Valley’s Billy Wallace led the first part of the race but ultimately was unable to hold off Terrell. Not only did Terrell win the main event, but he was the fastest in qualifying when he turned a 12.515. Wallace did hold on to the second spot. Woodland’s Peter Paulson drove a strong race and finished on the podium in third. Point leader Jeremy Hawes salvaged a tough night with a fourth-place finish. Korey Lovell battled all night to come home in fifth. Props to Tyler Seavey and his team as they overcame a mechanical issue in the heat race, battled through a tough main event and finished sixth. Wallace and Jimmy Steward each won their respective heat race.

Fifteen-year-old Shane Devolder won the hotly contested 20-lap IMCA Sport Mod main event. The youngster held off Phillip Shelby for the win. Devolder is a young driver that is a force within the IMCA Sport Mod community. It will be exciting to see how the rest of the summer plays out for this Freshman in high school. Shelby had another solid point night and finished second. Mike Merritt led the first few laps and looked good all night. He ultimately fell back to fourth once Damian Merritt passed him for third. Both Merritt’s had good runs tonight. Mike Smith continued his solid finishes throughout this season and came home fifth. Shelby won the first heat race. Devolder grabbed the win in heat two and swept the nights racing action.

Brian Compton dominated the Hobby Stock main event once again. Compton held a four second advantage at the checkered flag. Mel Byers, the point leader, finished in the second spot. Kyle Cheney continued to be a factor and finished third. Matt Magenheimer almost passed Cheney at the end but came home fourth. Defending champion Anthony Doubledee came home in the fifth spot. Compton also won the heat race.

Adam Ermolenko continued his winning ways and won the economy winged sprint car main event. Only two cars finished the 15-lap main event. Cameron Haney Jr. was the lone driver to give Ermolenko a battle tonight. Haney Jr. finished about three-seconds behind Ermolenko. The division also struggled in their heat race. Only two laps were completed after a caution plagued event. Ermolenko was the winner of the heat race.
