The special Memorial Day race is called the Yuba River Gold Rush and will feature winged 360 sprint cars and IMCA Sport mods. With the support from Speed Shift Tv, the track will offer a normal purse for the competitors even without fans being able to buy grandstand tickets. This race will also serve as the second official point race of 2020 for each division.
The track continues to monitor the guidelines set forth by the Country and wants to remind competitors that safety is of our up most importance. Please follow these below mentioned guidelines for the race on May 25.
Disinfect equipment and vehicles prior to arrival at Raceway. Do not exit vehicle until inside gate to sign in. No personal vehicles in pits. Vehicle towing race car will be escorted to designated pit area to keep social distancing. Keep social distancing at the track staying six feet apart from other individuals. This means, if you show up together, stay together, do not wander into other team’s pit areas. Individuals must wash hands with soap and water and disinfect periodically with hand sanitizer. Face masks are strongly encouraged at this point but not mandatory. If a team member(s) is sick or displays symptoms of Covid-19, including fever 100.4 or greater, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat – STAY HOME.
The grandstands will be closed to the public. Pit fees are $40.00 for members of the track, $45.00 for non-members. Pit gate scheduled to open at 2 PM. Drivers meeting at 4:30 PM. Cars on track around 5 PM. Speed Shift Tv exclusive coverage of this event is set to begin around 5 PM.  Pit concession will be open with guidelines in place.
For those not wanting to attend, or those who cannot because the grandstands are closed, we encourage you to watch the races live at speedshifttv.com. The coverage includes three different camera angles and a professional style broadcast. You will need to sign up for an account and then decide on what package you would like to buy. We are incredibly supportive of speedshifttv.com and are thankful they have signed on to broadcast this race.
The last two races have produced great car counts. The Winged 360 sprints had 28 the first week, and 32 this past weekend. The IMCA Sport Mods had 23 the first week and 17 this past weekend. We are expecting the same car counts and maybe more as we try to offer a normal pay out for the racers and teams on this one night only.
