March Towards Championship Starts Saturday

MARYSVILLE RACEWAY

(March 8, 2021)                                                      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Championship Point Season Opener This Saturday

The March towards the Marysville Raceway championship begins this Saturday night, March 13th, with four divisions ready to attack the quarter-mile oval speedway.  Unfortunately, no fans will be allowed into the main grandstands this weekend.  All persons welcomed into the pit area if you are 8 years of age or older.  All pit passes are $45.00.  Pit gate opens at 2 PM.  Cars on track at 5:30 PM.  Season championship points are on the line for all four divisions.

The winged 360 sprint cars are ready to kick things back into gear.  The first show of the season took place in February and 24-winged 360 sprint cars showed up.  A plethora of top teams are excited for the opportunity to get to the checkered flag first on Saturday night.  Auburn’s Andy Forsberg is scheduled to bring the No. x1.  Reno’s Mike Monahan and Yuba City’s Korey Lovell are expected.

The hustling Hobby Stocks hit the track for the first time in 2021.  Last year this division averaged 27 cars.  Jesse Van Roeklel is now a two-time champ of Marysville and looks to go for a threepeat.

Crate Sprints were given a boast in the arm when 11 showed up for the first non-points race of the year in February.  This division has seen an incredible growth the last few years.  Grass Valley’s Brett Youngman has won the last two championships.

Limited Late Models will hit the track for the first time this year.  Last season, Dan Brown Jr. held off Rod Oliver by just 10-points.

With the lack of fans and streaming revenue, at this point we will offer a reduced purse for all four divisions.
