Tribute to First Responders This Saturday Night at Marysville Races

MARYSVILLE, Calif., April 3, 2025…This Saturday Night, April 5th, Marysville Raceway will pay tribute to Marysville Police Officer Osmar Rodarte, who was shot and killed in the line of duty protecting our community on March 26, 2025. In doing so, we have agreed to allow all military personnel and public safety officials in uniform to receive free admission this Saturday night. The track will also host a special opening ceremony in honor of Officer Rodarte along with fundraising opportunities geared to help his family.

There will also be 200 goodie bags and racecar pictures provided by track photographer Jessica Cucuk to be handed out for free in the main grandstands. “We are honored to help out our community and host a night in honor of Officer Rodarte and all the brave men and women first responders,” said track promoter Dennis Gage.

On the racing side of things, the track will host four divisions of race cars this Saturday night. Led by the return of the winged 360 sprint cars and Crate Sprints. The IMCA Sport Mods return for their fourth appearance of the season. For the first time in 2025, the popular traveling Dwarf Cars are set to attack the famed quarter-mile dirt track. Upwards of 60 race cars are predicted to attend and be a part of honoring our local fallen Officer Rodarte.

Pit gate for the competitors will open at 3pm. Front gate will open at 5pm. Adult general admission is $18 (ages 16-61), Juniors and Seniors $16 (ages 12-15 / 62+), and kids are $8 (ages 6-11). Military with ID card is $16. Children 5 and under are FREE. Parking is also FREE for grandstand attendees.

With a large show planned, hot laps will begin at 5:15pm. Racing is slated to begin at 6pm. These times are pushed up from previous seasons. With four divisions on hand, track officials will have cars on the track no later than the listed 5:15pm time. Tonight, the track and its drivers have a great opportunity to showcase their talents in front of what we hope to be a larger than normal crowd.
