Three Grass Valley Drivers in Top Five at Marysville Raceway

Three Grass Valley Drivers are Excelling at Marysville Raceway

MARYSVILLE, Calif., May 27, 2025…On this Saturday night, May 31st, the Marysville Raceway will host a three-division night of championship point racing. Three divisions will entertain the diehard racing fans and led by the Hobby Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods and 360 Sprint Cars.

Pit gate is slated to open at 3pm. Front gate will open at 5pm. Adult general admission is $18 (ages 16-61), Juniors and Seniors $16 (ages 12-15 / 62+), and kids are $8 (ages 6-11). Military with ID card is $16. Children 5 and under are FREE. Parking is also FREE for grandstand attendees.

Grass Valley’s Billy Wallace continues to lead the way in the 360-sprint car division. Wallace holds an 18-point lead over Nick Larsen. Jake Haulot holds down the third spot. Fellow Grass Valley driver Carson Hall sits in fourth. The third Grass Valley driver is Pat Harvey who is in the fifth spot. All three of these drivers have families associated with the now defunct Ernie Purssell Raceway in Grass Valley. These three continue to be a factor in local sprint car racing. A total of 33 different drivers have earned points in the sprint car division.

Jason Clayton has surged ahead of Kyle Cheney to lead the Hobby Stock division. Clayton holds a one-point lead over Cheney. Toby Merrifield slipped back to third. Devin Koranda is locked into the fourth spot. Autum Thomas sits in the fifth spot. An amazing 34 different drivers have already earned championship points this season.

There is a tie for the championship in the IMCA Sport Mod division. Jimmy Ford and Mark Garner each have 185 total points. Chasing them is Tyler Rodgers in third. Shaun Merritt is fourth and just five points ahead of Mike Merritt. Twenty-four drivers have raced in this division in 2025 at Marysville Raceway.

Exciting, grass roots dirt track racing is on display this Saturday night.
