PRESS RELEASE-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Gold Fever Sprint Spectacular This Saturday

(Marysville, CA 9/25/23)…Big time sprint car racing resumes this weekend with the Gold Fever Sprint Spectacular featuring winged 360 sprint cars and Crate Sprints. Open wheel fans can rejoice as some of the best sprint car drivers in both the 360 sprints and Crate Sprints will be in attendance this Saturday night, September 30th.

The pit gate opens at 3:00 pm. Front gate 5 pm. Prices for all regular season events will be $20.00 for adults, $17.00 for seniors/juniors and military with proper identification. $10.00 for kids ages 6-11. Children 5 and under are FREE. Parking is FREE. Full-service concessions, beer garden, and souvenirs will be open.

The winged 360 sprint cars will be contending to win the $2,000 main event. This is a new event added to the 2023 schedule. Traditionally, Maryville has been off until the Taxicab Challenge near the end of October, but this year an off weekend for local area tracks was available and this event was added to the schedule. “I thought teaming this race up with the Paul Hawes Memorial Sprint Car Spooktacular was a nice way for the sprint car season to end at our track,” said Dennis Gage of Marysville Raceway. Spooktacular is scheduled for October 28th.

This Saturday will mark the second to final time in 2023, that the Crate Sprint Cars will attack the track. The track championship wrapped up a month ago for this division. Winning the title in a close battle was Carl Droivold, who narrowly held off fan favorite driver Misty Castleberry. A ton of talented drivers are expected to attend this final showing for this division. “Pairing the Crate Sprints with the 360 sprints was the perfect chance for fans to see two different but similar styles of open wheel racing,” said Gage.

As of now, if you can’t attend as a fan, NorCalSpeed.tv, is scheduled to broadcast the night’s racing. Head to their website to purchase this race.

Three upcoming events in October are scheduled. On October 14 the track will host a destruction derby. On October 21 the annual Gold Fever Taxicab Challenge is scheduled. As of now the season is slated to end on October 28 with the running of the Paul Hawes Memorial Sprint Car Spooktacular. The schedule is available at our website www.marysvilleraceway.com

Marysville Raceway is located just off of Simpson Lane next to the Marysville Flea Market in the Yuba River flood plain. The ¼ mile clay oval has operated for more than 60 years at this location.  Over time it has had numerous configurations and operators.  Improvements over the last decade have made the facility rival any California oval track operation and draws a large contingent of racers and fans.
