FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Toller Memorial Set to Kick off the 2025 Racing Season at Marysville
MARYSVILLE, Calif., February 18, 2025…Keeping with tradition, the annual Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial will once again open the 2025 racing season at Marysville Raceway. The first Toller Memorial was held in 2009 and at the time, was dedicated to Sherm only. In 2014, Loree passed away. In tribute to her, we added Loree’s name to join her husband starting in 2015.
The Open Wheel Bash on Saturday night will feature three separate divisions to race at Marysville. The event is highlighted by the 360 sprint cars vying for the $2,000 to win the main event. Added to the docket is the popular Crate Sprints and Wingless Sprints. All three divisions are highly regarded by fans at Marysville, making it an excellent way to commence the new racing season. “It still means a lot to my family that we can honor the Sherm and Loree with this early season race,” said track promoter Dennis Gage. “I knew both of them very well and am looking forward to hosting these three divisions on Saturday in their honor.”
The Toller’s spent most every Saturday night at the racetrack. Sherm loved roving the infield, handling the infield microphone duties. Loree sat up top, in the booth, and was a longtime scorekeeper for the racetrack. They spent countless hours working at Marysville Raceway and being involved with the sport they loved. This Saturday, February 22nd, we are honored to continue and host this popular race in memory of the Toller’s.
