Monster Trucks!

Monster Truck fans will be treated to the most exciting show ever at Marysville
Raceway this Friday and Saturday April 25 and 26. The giant car eating monster Megasaurus will join the Monster Trucks this weekend at the local Speedway.

Straight Up Racing owners Bill and Lorna Payne have added a transforming
robotic dinosaur called Megasaurus to their already strong line up of monster trucks and specialty vehicles.
The fire belching, car chomping transformer has been wowing crowds at monster-truck shows and fairs across middle and eastern America. Now the Western states can enjoy the Godzilla-like mechanical destructor.

The Megasaurus is modeled after a Tyrannasaurus rex and has hydraulically activated arms, grasping claws and jaws, as well as flame throwers set up in the head to give the effect of breathing fire from the mouth. That coupled with eyes the project ominous red flashes give the flashback to 65 million years ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The entire critter whose chassis is a Sherman tank, weighs 46,000 pounds. The robot is 30 foot tall and can eat all four doors of the average car before taking a bite out of the center leaving
it in shambles on the ground.

The Payne’s have operated monster trucks mostly in the Western states and Canada, but have recently begun adding novelty vehicles to their act. The addition of Major Payne, a Monster Tank started the evolution to
more of a vehicle variety. Then this year Teed Off, a jet powered Golf Cart was added. Now, the Megasaurus.
Monster trucks mostly operate at pavilions, speedways, and fairs. Megasaurus has played to a wider base of venues including Air shows and even on the Beach in Virginia. It was also featured on “Extreme Home Makeover” where it ripped a house apart.

“I’m kind of a gadget junkie”, explains Payne. “But Lorna and I always want to improve the product and show” he continued. “This is a big step for us, but we can offer the West Coast something they have never seen before,” he concluded.
