Matthew Kaiser Wins Crate Sprint Main Event

MARYSVILLE, Calif., May 25, 2025…The Winged Crate Sprint Cars of Marysville Raceway joined the traveling Sprint Car Challenge Tour Sunday night for an exciting twin billing of racing. A solid 17 drivers attended the show and put on an incredible night of racing for the capacity crowd. After the dust had settled and the 20-laps were completed, Napa’s Matthew Kaiser won for the second time this season.
All 17 cars started the feature race. At first it looked like Derek Droivold was on his way to the win. Droivold jumped out to the lead and looked fast. He had a decent sized lead over Kaiser. As Droivold closed in on some slower traffic, Mike Ballantine had spun in turn one. Droivold tried to avoid the Ballantine but the two made contact and Droivold ended up on his lid and the red flag was needed. This moved Kaiser to the top spot. Chasing him was Misty Castleberry. It was a nice rebound for Castleberry, who needed a good finish after a season filled with bad luck. Behind Castleberry the top two in points were racing hard. Jacob Johnson and Caleb Ingle put on a great show for the fans. In the end Johnson finished third. Ingle came home fourth. Carl Droivold gained a few positions and finished fifth.
Carl Droivold bested Ingle to grab the first heat race win. Britton Bock held off Johnson to win the second and final eight lap heat race.
Next race for the Crate Sprints is scheduled for June 14th. They will be joined by the Joe Hunt Wingless Sprints, and Hobby Stocks. This race will offer a Father’s Day discount at the front gate. Details will follow at www.marysvilleraceway.com
