Auto Racing and Kids Bike Night at Marysville

Marysville, CA (August 21, 2016)…Championship auto racing continues this Saturday night, August 27th, with point race #15 along with the annual Kids Bike Night at Marysville Raceway. Kid’s bike night is presented by AutoMaxx and North Valley Driveline Service. Not only are kids 11 and under free, but if the kids bring their bicycles, during the intermission they get to race for trophies and ribbons on the front stretch of the race track. The kids will also be entered in a raffle and one boy and one girl will win a free BMX style bike along with accessories. It will be a fun filled family night of racing at the speedway.

General admission is $13.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors and juniors and military with I.D. Children 11 and under are free. Pit gate opens at 3 PM with the front gate opening at 5 PM. The bike races will take place between 7:30 PM and 8 PM.

Jeremy Burt leads the winged 360 sprint division heading into this Saturday night. Burt holds a six-point edge over Cody Lamar. These two have battled all season long and it is only fitting that the championship will come down to these final two nights. This season has been an impressive year at Marysville. The winged sprint cars have averaged around 18 cars each point race. The wide ranging talent in this division has entertained the fans all season long.

The wingless division is also having a great clash for the point’s championship. Josh Vieira leads two-time and defending track title holder Timmy Sherman Jr. by a meager six-points. Peter Paulson sits in third and has narrowed the gap to just 13-points back of Vieira. Also, you cannot count out Johnny Burns who is 16-points out of the lead. Four drivers have a legitimate shot at the title.

Wyatt Brown is well on his way to winning the Marysville track title in the economy winged sprint cars. Brown is fresh off his narrow one point championship win in Chico this past Friday night. Brown holds a large 63-point lead over Nathan Johnson and Keith Mikaelsen.

Brian Cooper and Todd Cooper look to continue their season long battle in the IMCA Sport Mods division. Brian takes an eighteen point edge into this Saturday night over his brother Todd. Jerry Bartlett sits in the third spot and is 29-points back of Brian. The Merritt’s are having a family challenge themselves. Mike leads Damian Merritt by just four points for fourth place.

Pro 4 Sprints will get another chance to race at Marysville. While car counts have been low the division still produces some fun racing and excited winners in victory lane.
