PRESS RELEASE-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Raceway Banquet Scheduled

(Marysville, CA 10/10/22) The 2022 Marysville Raceway year ending dinner and awards banquet will be held November 19, 2022.  The annual celebration of the race year will be held at the Feather Falls Casino in Oroville.

“We’re one of the few raceways who still have a full season of racing and we are proud of the people who make this happen,” explained track manager Dennis Gage.  “These folks commit to a full year of competition and put their heart and soul into this effort.”  he concluded.

Marysville Raceway is located just off of Simpson Lane next to the Marysville Flea Market in the Yuba River flood plain.

The ¼ mile clay oval has operated for more than 60 years at this location.  Over time it has had numerous configurations and operators.  Improvements over the last decade have made the facility rival any California oval track operation and draws a large contingent of racers and fans.

26 events were held in 2022.  Winged 360 sprint cars led the lineup with the most events and veteran driver Bobby Butler was crowned champion.  Butler won his first track title.   Local sport modified driver Jimmy Ford also was a first-time winner after narrowly missing the 2021 title by a slim three points.  Britton Bock unseated long term Crate Sprint champion Brett Youngman which only happened when Bock’s car owner saw regular driver Dusty Barton injured in an industrial accident.   Howard Law dominated the Hobby stock competition capturing the championship.

The 2023 schedule is still being compiled but will mirror the 2022 season.  The winged sprint cars will be the headline division, joined by Crate Sprints, Hobby stocks, and Sport modifieds. Hobby stocks have gained popularity in the area and had sixty-three different entries this year.  Sprint cars only slightly exceeded that with seventy-three entrants.  The biggest difference are the Hobby stocks are locally based, while the sprint car teams come from as far away as Texas.

The Banquet will be held in a private banquet room on the mezzanine level at Feather Falls Casino.  A no host bar will open at 6 PM and dinner is schedules for 7:15. Lodging is available adjacent to the Casino at the lodge.  Reservation can be made by calling 530-533-3885.
