Championship Auto Racing Continues This Saturday Night

Marysville, CA (May 18, 2017) – Another action-packed night of championship point racing is scheduled for this Saturday night, May 20th, as five divisions of race cars charge into Marysville Raceway. Winged 360 sprints, Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks and Economy Sprints are the five featured divisions on this night.

Just a reminder, fans can buy grandstand tickets on line by visiting www.marysvilleraceway.com and click on the admit one/ticket icon on the front page. This will save time waiting in line at the event.

The pit gate will open at 3 PM while the front grandstand gate opens at 5 PM. Starting this Saturday, the pit meeting is being moved from 5:30 PM to 5 PM in hopes of getting the competitors on the track earlier for wheel packing and hot laps.

Adult general admission is $13.00 into the grandstands. Seniors, juniors and Military with ID are just $10.00 each. Kids, six to eleven years old, are $6.00. Children five and under are FREE. A family pass is available and consists of 2 adult tickets, 2 junior tickets or 3 kid’s tickets for a combined price of $40.00.

Fresh off his first career winged 360 sprint car win, Marysville’s Jeremy Hawes continues to lead the point standings. Marysville Raceway has a strong local following of winged sprint cars and those drivers continue to be at the top of their game week in and week out.

Phillip Shelby, like Hawes, won last Saturday night at Marysville. Shelby won the exciting Sport Mod main event. He holds a 36-point edge over Mike Smith.

Adam Ermolenko will look to continue his winning streak and remain the point leader in the Economy Winged sprint car division. He holds an eight-point edge over Cameron Haney Jr.

The best championship battle is currently in the Hobby Stocks division. Mel Byers only leads Cy Cooper by just two points. Anthony Doubledee and Matt Magenheimer are tied and sit just seven points back of Byers.

The Street Stock drivers will get a rare chance to race at Marysville. This scheduled event is a non-point race and gives the drivers an opportunity to have some fun and try to win a main event.
