Corning’s Brian McGahan continues to lead the championship charge at Marysville. McGahan holds a staggering 43-point edge over two drivers tied for second. Koa Crane and Dawson Hammes each have 296 points. Just nine points back of those two sits Carson Hammes. Billy Wallace rounds out the top five. Wallace trails Carson by 17 markers. Former track champion Andy Forsberg is set to make a guest appearance tonight. Expect other winged 360 sprint car drivers to make a rare appearance this Saturday with other tracks not racing.

Defending track champion Jimmy Ford holds an 11-point lead over Jason Clayton Jr. in a tight battle for the top spot in the IMCA Sport Mod division. Ford has five top six finishes to lead the way. Chasing them is Raymond Lindeman who has two wins and just 19-points back of Ford. Scott Savell and Mike Merritt have each had strong finishes and rounded out the top five in points. This Saturday will mark the seventh point race of the season. The IMCA Sport Mods continue to be a popular mainstay at the Raceway.

The Dwarf Cars return to the track after just competing here on May 20th. That night, nearly 30 competitors put on a fantastic show. Mike Grenert charged from deep in the field to win the exciting 20-lap main event. If you have not seen a Dwarf Car race at Marysville, then you are missing out. Another large car count is expected for the Dwarf Cars. This same group will return to Marysville on July 8th.

Marysville Raceway is located just off of Simpson Lane next to the Marysville Flea Market in the Yuba River flood plain. The ¼ mile clay oval has operated for more than 60 years at this location.  Over time it has had numerous configurations and operators.  Improvements over the last decade have made the facility rival any California oval track operation and draws a large contingent of racers and fans.
