Drivers and Fans Are Geared Up for Saturday
Marysville, CA (April 20, 2017) – Championship auto racing returns to Marysville Raceway this Saturday night, April 22nd, as fans and drivers are equally excited for this show. It has been three weeks since the last time everyone gathered at the racetrack and that usually means something spectacular will happen.
A large five division night will feature the winged 360 sprints, dwarf cars, IMCA sport mods, wingless sprints and economy sprints. Over 65 race cars are predicted to pack the pit area and thrill the grandstand crowd with an action-packed night of racing.
Marysville’s Jeremy Hawes leads the points standing for the winged 360 sprint cars. Hawes holds a seven-point edge over Sutter’s Tyler Seavey. Korey Lovell, Billy Wallace and Brad Bumgarner round out the top five.
Gary Paulson leads the wingless point standings by one point over Cody Spencer. With just one point race completed, the top 10 in points is very close. The wingless sprints have been a staple at Marysville for a long time now and continue to be one of the premiere divisions.
After two event’s Howard Law is the point leader in the IMCA sport mod standings. Phillip Shelby is close on Law’s heals. Jeff Bye Jr., Jerry Bartlett, Mike Smith and Shane Devolder are all within 10 points of the top spot. This division is so action packed and provides some of the best racing you can watch in California.
The last time the Dwarf cars showed up at Marysville they brought 28 competitors. Four action packed heat race, a B main and a full feature event provided a ton of great racing. Expect the same this Saturday night.
The Economy Sprints had only five cars attend the first point race of 2017. We are hopeful more show up on this night.
Just a reminder, fans can buy grandstand tickets on line by visiting www.marysvilleraceway.com and click on the admit one/ticket icon on the front page. This will save time waiting in line at the event.
The pit gate will open at 3 PM while the front grandstand gate opens at 5 PM. Starting this Saturday, the pit meeting is being moved from 5:30 PM to 5 PM in hopes of getting the competitors on the track earlier for wheel packing and hot laps.
Adult general admission is $13.00 into the grandstands. Seniors, juniors and Military with ID are just $10.00 each. Kids, six to eleven years old, are $6.00. Children five and under are FREE. A family pass is available and consists of 2 adult tickets, 2 junior tickets or 3 kid’s tickets for a combined price of $40.00.
