First Look At The New Marysville Raceway!

(Chico, CA 12-23-14)…The wait is over for die hard dirt track fans and drivers. On January 1st the annual Marysville Play Day will showcase the recently new configured and widened ¼ mile oval dirt track. Former promoters Paul and Kathy Hawes are stepping away from the day-to-day race track obligations and this will be the first glimpse of what new promoter Dennis Gage has envisioned for the future of the facility. It should be noted this is a work in progress and changes will continue to be made throughout the upcoming 2015 season. “The Hawes family should be commended for all the improvements they brought to Marysville Raceway,” said Gage. “We have a plan to continue what they started but also bring our own creative thinking to ensure the long range stability of this dirt track.” Gage has been the promoter of Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico for the past four years. Before that he managed the All-America Speedway in Roseville.

The pit gate at Marysville Raceway will open at 11 am on Thursday January 1st. The pit gate fee is $25 per person. Practice times for the drivers and teams are scheduled from noon to 4 pm. All divisions of cars are welcomed to participate and will be placed in their respective groups.

As of now the first race at Marysville Raceway the new action track is scheduled for February 28, 2015. The race is called The Sherm Toller Memorial featuring the winged 360 sprint cars. Soon the official 2015 Marysville Raceway schedule will be posted. As of now we can release that in 2015 Marysville Raceway and their fans will see multiple nights of new divisions including the 410 winged sprint cars, dirt modifieds, sport mods, economy sprints and traditional street stocks to go along with the normal points divisions.

Reminder, 2015 will be a joint adventure between Silver Dollar Speedway, Cycleland Speedway and Marysville Raceway. Anyone with questions can feel free to call the office at (530) 350-7275 or e-mail Troy Hennig at thennig@sbcglobal.net.
