May The Fourth Be with You at the Marysville Raceway Dirt Track

MARYSVILLE, Calif., April 29, 2024…Three divisions are lined up and ready to compete this Saturday night, May 4th, at the action track of the West, Marysville Raceway. For the first time this season, the ultracompetitive Dwarf Cars will test their skills on the quarter-mile dirt track. Joining them are the 360 sprint cars and Crate Sprints.

After three rounds of 360 sprint car racing a new face has emerged as the track point leader. Teenager Carson Hammes of Marysville sits atop the sprint car points. Carson has amassed 139 total points with consistent finishes. Eight points back is Grass Valley’s Billy Wallace. Dawson Hammes, the most recent main event winner, is just one-point back of Wallace, and nine-points back of younger brother Carson. Drake Standley holds down the fourth spot. Dryver Dothage rounds out the top five.

For the fifth time this season, the Crate Sprints will get to mix it up this Saturday night. Koa Crane, by winning three of the previous four main events, sits at the top of the standings. He holds a 14-point lead over Misty Castleberry. Chasing them are Matthew Kaiser, eight-points back of Castleberry, and Jason Ballantine, just three-points behind Kaiser. Derek Droivold rounds out the top five.

The popular Dwarf Cars make their first appearance of the season this Saturday night. Traditionally, over 20 cars pack the pit area and provide some of the best racing on the track. The Dwarf Cars return July 27th, September 14th, 20th and 21st as part of their nationals event.
